Generation Z in Namibia
Originally planned as an academic workshop “Generation Z in Africa”, we changed it to “Meeting the Generation Z in Namibia”. And this turned out to be a wonderful idea!
First of all, we got great help of the University of Namibia (UNAM).
Local Organizers / Host:
The University of Namibia (UNAM) is the largest and leading national institution of higher education in Namibia. It is a diverse institution with a student population from all over the continent. Although a relatively young university, it has grown to support a student population of 19,000 in 2016. The committed faculties and competent administrative support staff have earned the university a ranking of being one of the top African universities. During 2006, UNAM was rated as the best higher education institution in Namibia by the Professional Management Review of South Africa and won a Golden Arrow Award.
Simon Lumbu has a Master in Education (Literacy & Learning) from University of Namibia and is a lecturer at the Department of Language and Literature Studies at UNAM. Since January 2016 he is also a PhD Candidate (Language Studies).
Prof. Dr. Christian Scholz, is the contact person in case of questions regarding scientific questions around the workshop and the book about it. Since 1986, he holds the chair of Business Administration, especially Organization, Human Resource Management and Information Management at Saarland University (Germany). He is also founding director of the European Institute for Advanced Behavioural Management (Europa Institut; 1990). From 2010 to 2012 he has been dean of the faculty of law and business. At the UNAM, we had two workshops at their facilities with students belonging to the Generation Z from different faculties and from different African countries.
And we met school learners belonging to the Generation Z and staff of some excellent high schools in Windhoek (in alphabetical order):

…. we went to Goethe Institut Namibia to get to know the young people belonging to the Generation Z (as well as other generations), who take classes here.
